About Eric

Welcome, and a little about me…

(1990-1991) Team Leader - G Co. 2/4 "Operation Desert Storm"

First and foremost I’m a proud father of 2 very wonderful teenage daughters that I love very much. Secondly, I am a  Marine Corps Combat Veteran of Operation Desert Storm and diagnosed with post traumatic stress and also suffer from Gulf War Illness – assigned to Golf Co. 2nd Battalion 4th Marines during that period of time.

In addition to, and while serving as a U.S. Marine infantryman, I participated in Operation(s) Sharp Edge and Provide Comfort.

Other “grunt” or infantry units having served with included Kilo Co. 3rd Battalion 8th Marines (Camp Lejeune NC) and Bravo Co. 1st Battalion 3rd Marines (K-Bay Hawaii).

As a sergeant I led Marines as an infantry squad leader, platoon guide, platoon sergeant and (at one point) a stint as platoon commander – I was honorably discharged in 1995.

I’ve either been (or still am) a Volunteer, Job Development Coordinator for the Homeless, Veterans Outreach Program Manager, Mentor, and Peer Support Specialist since my commitment to recovery began back in 2009.

Lastly; I’ve learned a lot as I continue to grow in my recovery and with the command and control of my life. Forever standing with all veterans – respecting, supporting, and encouraging them with their own. This blog is an intentional means of doing so, and to help bring Combat PTSD to the forefront of awareness – “You are not alone”.
